About Me
I grew up in Vernal, Utah and moved to Grand Junction to attend CMU – then Mesa State College! I discovered right away that I loved living in western Colorado and attending Mesa State. I earned my bachelor's degree in Geology and was a member of the National Honor Society for Earth Sciences – Sigma Gamma Epsilon. I also received a four-year, full tuition scholarship to serve as a student ambassador. I worked in the Admissions Office, gave campus tours and helped future Mavericks find their home at CMU!
Favorite thing about Grand Junction
My favorite thing about Grand Junction is how easy it is to access the amazing outdoor opportunities! After living on the Front Range of Colorado for the last 10 years and recently moving “home”, I’m thrilled with how easy it is to access trail systems, the Colorado National Monument, the Grand Mesa and the Colorado River. It only takes 10-15 minutes to find an amazing activity – and it’s something I can easily do without having to worry about finding parking or having to pay to access these spaces. I also love the historic downtown area which serves as Grand Junction’s art district. It has amazing restaurants and shopping, and there are a variety of festivals happening in the warmer months!
